Douglas Milke Jr.'s Obituary
Douglas Milke Jr., longtime resident of Burlington, NJ, passed away on September 1st, 2025, at the age of 75.
Born to the late Douglas and Alice (nee Walz) Milke Sr., on June 16th, 1950, in Philadelphia, Pa. Douglas is the beloved brother of the late Bernadette Milke (2025), the late Robin Rago, the late Daniel Milke, Christine (Steve) Amoroso, Darlene (Joe) SantaCroce, Cheryl Milke, Jeanette (Rick) Francesco, and Ronald Milke. As a family, they lived in Levittown, Pa, where the Milke kids spent hours playing outside in the fresh air. Douglas loved spending time outside, he played little league baseball, spent summers swimming & diving, learning to play guitar, and building model figurines. In his teenager years, his family moved to Edgewater Park, where Douglas attended Burlington City High School as part of the graduating class of 1968.
As Douglas became older, he started the life he envisioned for himself. He became the proud father of Michelle (Rob) Newell and Douglas Milke III. As a family, his children remember fondly listening to dad’s favorite music from The Doors, Sade, Santana, Earth Wind & Fire, The Beatles, and Moody Blues. As his children became older, Douglas became the beloved grandfather of Emma Newell. He enjoyed attending family gatherings, talking with friends, and his work as a truck driver. In his later years, he became a Youth Leader in the local Protestant Church, he enjoyed biblical studies and was a proud United States Air Force National Guard member.
Douglas will be remembered fondly by those who knew & loved him for his generous heart, his kind, humorous personality, and his love for his family.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Douglas’s Celebration of Life on Saturday, September 20th, 2025, from 11am – 12pm, followed by Words of Remembrance at 12pm.
