Edna Matczak's Obituary
Edna Matczak (nee Rex) of Cinnaminson, NJ, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2025, just days after celebrating her 91st birthday. She was born on August 14, 1934, in Philadelphia, PA, to the late Howard and Edna Rex.
Edna was the devoted wife of the late Edwin Matczak, with whom she shared a loving marriage until his passing in 2016. She was the cherished mother of Karen Ebley and her husband John, loving grandmother of Christopher (Amanda), Dana (Evan), and Lauren (Patrick), and adoring great-grandmother of Magnolia and EmmaLou. She is also survived by her siblings Jimmy and Carol, and was predeceased by her siblings Lois and Buddy. Edna will be deeply missed by her many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Edna entered the workforce at a young age with Bell Telephone Company in Philadelphia, PA. Through dedication and hard work, she rose to become a district manager—one of the first women to achieve such a position.
Kindhearted and graceful, Edna was an avid reader who also had a keen eye for fashion—especially when it came to shoes and jewelry. She and Edwin shared countless memories at their shore home in Sunray Beach, NJ, where they enjoyed the peace of the Delaware Bay. At home, Edna took great pride in her seasonal traditions, especially changing her curtains and decorating with care to make her home warm and welcoming.
Family and friends are invited to her visitation on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church of Riverton (Corner of 4th & Linden Avenues, Riverton, NJ). A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Edna’s memory may be made to AT&T Pioneers (https://attpioneers.org/) or the Parkinson’s Foundation (www.parkinsons.org).
