Edward Palmer's Obituary
Edward J. Palmer, Sr., of Maple Shade, NJ, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2018 with his family by his side. Loving husband to Concetta Palmer (nee Garofola). They were married for 58 years. Dear father to Edward J. Palmer, Jr. and his wife Lisa, Michael Palmer and his wife Annette, Caroline (Palmer) Fass and her husband David, Mary (Palmer) Dagney and her husband John. Beloved grandfather to his 9 grandchildren Matthew, Brett, Jamie, Courtney, Edward, Emma, Clare, Julia and John.
Ed was born in Philadelphia, PA on September 14, 1932. He was a Korean War veteran and served his country for 8 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was Past Grand Knight for Council 5714. He was a volunteer of the Boy Scouts and CYO baseball for many years.
He was an avid Phillies fan and enjoyed crabbing, horse racing and the Mummers. He could always be seen carrying his cryptogram or crosswords and listening to Frank Sinatra. He loved spending time and celebrating holidays with his family. He was always there when you needed him, and would do anything for anyone…and always with a smile.
A gathering of friends and family will be held on Monday, October 15th at 10:00am, followed by his funeral mass at 11:00am, both at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Maple Shade, NJ. Burial will follow at Brigadier Wm. C. Doyle Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ.
