I first met Eileen at a dance ten or more years ago. She was this pretty little lady on the dance floor that lit up the room. I said wow that girl dances like she’s back in high school! She was so good I did not dare to ask her to dance so I watched. That went on for several dance events and then suddenly she was missing for months. One night she returned and I knew I had to get up my courage and ask her to dance a jitterbug with me. Wow she was so good and I felt like I was back in high school! So we talked and basically we really were back in high school. We both graduated HS in 1962, she from Palmyra and me from Burlington. She knew several of my classmates. But then it became amazing… she told me she was the close cousin of Gerry the wife of one of my best high school friends Herb Shaw. Well from then on we became favorite dance partners and very good friends. Eileen introduced me to many great Doo Wop songs (she was a DJ Jerry Blavat fan) . Eileen was a pretty lady with an infectious laugh and a kind gentle demeanor. I throughly enjoyed her company and friendship. Eileen will be greatly missed by all her dancing friends. I thank God he allowed me to meet such a wonderful friend so late in life. A friend that when we danced made me feel like I was 17 and back in high school!
