Eileen R. Jones' Obituary
Eileen R. Jones (neé Marchetti), a resident of Medford, passed away with her family by her side on August 14th. She was 79. Beloved wife of William H. Jones III. Dear mother of Laura A. Renna, Cheryl L. Jones and Gregory S. Jones. Loving nana to Christopher M. Renna, Brett J. Renna, Nicole E. Renna and Lily E. Jones. Eileen is also survived by her two sisters, Jean Allen, husband David Allen; Deborah Burton, husband Ottis Burton.
Eileen will be remembered by countless close friends and relatives in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. She was born in Parsons, Wilkes-Barre, PA where she attended Coughlin High School. Following graduation, and while attending General Hospital School of Nursing, she met her husband of 41 years.
Settling in Glen Ridge, NJ, she raised a family while working as a Registered OR Nurse for Mountainside Hospital and as a sales agent for Weichert.
After retirement, Eileen began a new chapter of her life in Wyngate at Medford, NJ. During that time, she enjoyed gardening, decorating, swimming and countless social activities, among them, lively games with great friends and any chance to show her flair for holiday costume and cheer.
Throughout her life, Eileen loved reading, cooking Italian and American cuisines, collecting rare knife rests and writing decorative calligraphy. She enjoyed travelling with her growing family around the country by land and air, and cherished many trips by sea to tropical locations. Her family and friends remember Eileen for her radiant smile, lively presence and incredibly supportive and caregiving spirit.
Friends and relatives are invited to Eileen’s Life Celebration on Monday, August 19th starting 1pm at Givnish’s of Marlton, 398 E. Main St. Followed by her Memorial Service 3pm. The burial with her husband at Glendale Cemetery will be private.
In remembrance of Eileen’s life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to the American Lung Association.
