Eleanor R. Harper's Obituary
Eleanor R. Harper, age 95, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2025. Born on July 30, 1929, to Alfred and Emma Chase, Eleanor lived a life marked by intelligence, humor, and fierce independence.
A true scholar, Eleanor graduated high school at the remarkable age of 15. She was married for 61 years to the love of her life, the late Harry Harper. Together they built a beautiful family, raising five children. She is survived by her loving sons George Harper (Pegeen) and Harry Harper (Terri), and was predeceased by her children Michael Harper, Mark Harper, and Jaclyn Greenberg.
Eleanor was a devoted grandmother to 10, great-grandmother to 21, and great-great-grandmother to 9. She is also survived by her cherished sister, Jane Lefferts.
Feisty, sharp-witted, and full of life, Eleanor enjoyed bingo nights and casino trips with her sister Diane and sister-in-law Yvonne. Her days were often filled with gospel music, which she loved deeply. And when Jeopardy! was on, silence reigned — it was non-negotiable.
Per her wishes, no services will be held.
Eleanor’s legacy of strength, love, and wisdom will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
