Ellen B Adams' Obituary
Ellen B. Adams (née Schoenberg) passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, August 9, 2024. Born in Philadelphia to Albert H. Schoenberg and S. Juanita Schoenberg Foley (Moore). Ellen was 75 years old. She was a life long resident of Palmyra.
Ellen is predeceased by her brother Richard Schoenberg who died in the Vietnam War.
Beloved wife of 56 years to Bruce J. Adams. Loving mother of Keith (Karen) Adams and Kevin (Kristin) Adams. Cherished “Lil G” to Julia, Heather, Sam, and Nick.
Ellen was a 1967 graduate of Palmyra High School. She was employed as a crossing guard for Palmyra Borough and enjoyed greeting the students on their way to and from school each day. She was known to keep herself busy and held many food service jobs in her life, as well.
Ellen loved taking care of those around her, especially her family and grandkids. She found joy in preparing Sunday dinners, barbecuing in the summers, and planning pool parties for her loved ones. Some fan favorites include her deviled eggs, her barbecue ribs, and her apple crisp. Ellen was always asking how she could help. She was a force to be reckoned with each holiday, bringing food, helping set up, and cleaning up throughout the day, even after she was told that she could relax.
Her favorite place to relax, though, was her shore house in Tuckerton, NJ. She loved sitting on the porch with her word searches, looking out at the bay, and feeding the seagulls. However, the best trips were those when she brought her grandkids.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Thursday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Givnish of Cinnaminson 1200 Route 130 North. Ellen’s Funeral Service will begin at 11 a.m.
Burial will take place at Bethel Memorial Park, Pennsauken.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Palmyra War Memorial.
