Engel "Chip" A. Tagland III's Obituary
Engel “Chip” A. Tagland III, 68, of Cherry Hill, NJ, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2022 with his family by his side.
Loving and devoted husband to Nancy Tagland (nee Mainart) for over 43 years. Amazing father, best friend and “my man!” to Engel “Chip” A. Tagland IV (Jamie), grandfather to one on the way. Chip is also survived by his remarkable and supportive brother Gary Tagland (Sheila), and his caring brother-in-law Robert Mainart (Donna). Son of the late Engel Jr. and Anne Tagland, he will also be missed by his aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, many friends, and his beloved dog Rosie.
Chip worked for 39 years as a union ironworker for the Local 399 in Camden, NJ. He was an avid fisherman for 52 years and would often be found spending quality time with his family on the boat. He loved feeding the deer in his backyard, and his friends will remember him as quite the lifelong practical joker. His family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Dr. Steven Gerber, Dr. Gamil Hanna and the dedicated staff at Penn Medicine Cherry Hill for their wonderful care.
A gathering of friends and family will be held on: Saturday, August 20th at Givnish of Marlton, 398 E. Main Street, from 8:00am to 10:00am with his funeral mass to follow at 10:30am at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 100 Willow Bend Rd, Marlton, NJ. The mass will be livestreamed and is available at the following link: https://boxcast.tv/view/engel-tagland---mass-of-christian-burial-zvhpuvccm07ncu7rvrkw Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers or other expressions of sympathy, Chip would appreciate donations made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.StJude.org.
