I am so saddened by the news. Late I know but have not been able to find any family. My nephew Justin was stationed at the Army base on Oahu and I asked him to check on Eric when he was at Barking Sands. Justin ran into Gary Soto our neighbor on Opu Rd he told Justin that Eric had moved to the Philippines. I had tried several times to reach out to family but could not find anyone. I loved Eric but we were toxic together. Please would someone call me. With tremendous grief Melissa 615-406-6362
I am sorry this is so late. One of our shipmates only found out about Eric's passing this morning. I just wanted to tell you that Eric was a much loved shipmate on the USS Badger and many of us have been looking for him hoping he could come to a reunion. We as a crew are very saddened by this news. If any of the family would like to, please find me, Gary Phillips on the Badger facebook page. My deepest condolences to the family. I am extremely saddened by the news. Although I had moved to the west coast some time ago and have not seen Eric for many years, I have very fond memories of Eric and his brother Steve, as we grew up together in the same neighborhood in Pennsauken.
I'll never forget the record albums and concert tee shirts he would give to me when we were kids. I seem to remember his uncle (or someone in his family), working in the music business, and always kept Eric in a good supply of albums etc. As I recall, Black Sabbath, Paranoid and Deep Purple, Machine Head, were my first forays into rock music courtesy of Eric! Lots of good memories form from a great time and place to be young.
