Eriketti Zafiratos, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and devotion that will be remembered forever. Born in the beautiful island of Kefalonia, Greece, Eriketti grew up surrounded by the vibrant culture and traditions that shaped her deep love for family. In her early years, she married the love of her life, Stavros Zafiratos, and together they embarked on the incredible journey of building a life in America.
In the early 1970s, with hope in their hearts, Eriketti and Stavros moved to the United States, embracing the challenges of a new country to provide their children a better future. Though the path was not always easy, Eriketti faced every challenge with grace and determination. She was the unwavering foundation of her family, pouring her heart into her role as a homemaker, creating a warm and loving home for her children: Spiro, Niko, and Stathi.
Eriketti's family was her greatest pride and joy. She dedicated her life to ensuring her sons grew up surrounded by love, respect, and the values she held dear. Her love extended to her daughters-in-law, Carol and Effie, and her adored grandchildren, Elizabeth, Alex, Christina, Stavros, and Bobby. Nothing brought her more happiness than spending time with her grandchildren, who she cherished more than anything.
Known for her nurturing spirit, Eriketti made everyone feel welcome in her home, whether it was a friend or family member. Her hospitality, kindness, and warm smile were constants in the lives of all who knew her. She had a deep love for travel and always found joy in exploring new places, often taking her family on adventures to share in her zest for life.
Eriketti was a woman of quiet strength and immense love, always putting her family first. Her unconditional love was her gift to everyone around her, and her joy for life was evident in the way she lived it—fully and with passion. Whether she was cooking a traditional Greek meal, offering words of wisdom, or sharing laughter with her grandchildren, Eriketti brought light and love into every moment.
Her family will forever remember her as the heart of their world, a woman who embraced life and love with open arms. Though she has left this world, her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved her. Eriketti Zafiratos, you will be deeply missed but never forgotten. May your soul rest in eternal peace.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects 9am until 11am with service to follow on Monday September 16th, 2024 located at St. Thomas Greek Orthodox Church, 615 Mercer St Cherry Hill, NJ 08002. Burial will follow at Cedar Green Cemetery located at 251 E Academy St Clayton, NJ 08312.
