Ethel Mae McMahon's Obituary
Ethel McMahon passed away peacefully on May 12, 2020 at her residence in Cadbury of Cherry Hill. She was born in the Burholme section of Philadelphia on March 2, 1922. She graduated from Olney High School. She was a long time resident of Palmyra, New Jersey.
Beloved wife of 55 years to the late Edward Allen McMahon. Loving mother of Debra (Michael) Kennedy and Perry Allen McMahon. Cherished grandmother of Brienne Kennedy and Edward (Katie) Kennedy. Great grandmother of Wyatt Michael Kennedy.
Ethel was a life long member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Palmyra, New Jersey. She taught Sunday School there for many years. She enjoyed bowling in several leagues and would bike around Palmyra and Riverton three times a week completing a ten mile course. She was an avid swimmer and spent summers at her parent’s home on Long Beach Island.
Ethel found great joy spending many hours with her daughter going to horse shows in New Jersey. Debbie owned several horses from the 1960’s to 2010 and Ethel helped in their care.
One of Ethel’s greatest satisfactions was being involved in the lives of her grandchildren and she accomplished one of her life goals when she attended their college graduations.
Due to the current circumstances, a private service will be held for the family. In lieu of flowers, please consideration a donation to the Palmyra Ambulance Association.
