Eugene Thomas 'Tom' LaPorte's Obituary
Eugene Thomas (Tom) LaPorte, 87, of Cinnaminson and Stone Harbor, NJ, passed away, surrounded by family, on Friday, April 12, after a brief illness.
Tom is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Carol (Bailey) LaPorte; his son, Scott LaPorte (Pamela) of Matthews, NC; his daughter, Leslie (Chris) Todd of Moorestown, NJ; and his 4 loving grandchildren, Kristen Van Dyke (Matthew), Lauren LaPorte, Caitlyn and Kevin Todd; his brother Raymond (Karen) LaPorte of Pittsburgh, PA.
Tom graduated from the University of Pittsburgh, and served his country in the United States Air Force and Reserves. He worked for RCA and several other companies, eventually becoming Project Manager on the AEGIS Naval Defense System, before retiring from Lockheed Martin.
Family and friends are invited to the visitation on Thursday, April 18, from 11:00am-12:30pm, at Givnish Funeral Home, 1200 Route 130 North, Cinnaminson, NJ 08077. A Memorial Service will immediately follow. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in Tom’s name to Covenant Presbyterian Church, 2618 New Albany Road, Cinnaminson, NJ 08077.
