F. Dorothy Hare "Dot"'s Obituary
Dorothy Shaner Smith Hare left to be with her Lord on October 20, 2013, just three days after her 97th birthday, under a full moon.....Dot passed away at Wiley Nursing Home surrounded by the love of her family. Dot was born in Palmyra NJ in 1916, lived on Lincoln Avenue, attended Palmyra HS and Pierce Business School. Dorothy had an adventurous spirit. She traveled the world and learned how to scuba dive when was 71 years old. Dot is survived by her children Karen Wosiski and Skip Smith; five grand-children: Krista Burton, Ian Wosiski, Tara Wosiski, Joshua and Hannah Smith; and five great grand-children: Grace, Claire, and Ellis Burton and Luke and Ryder Case-Wosiski. Dot was a loving, kind and generous woman of God. She will be sorely missed.
Dot was an active member of Epworth and worshiped there most of her life . She was the oldest member of the congregation, taught children’s Sunday school, attended Bible Study and her women's circle group and at one time, was president of the United Methodist Women.
A memorial service will be held for Dot at Epworth Methodist Church 501 Morgan Ave. Palmyra, NJ 08065 on Friday, November 1 at 7:00PM followed by a reception at the church. To share your fondest memory of Dot please visit www.snovergivnish.com
