Francis X. Gallagher Sr.'s Obituary
Francis Xavier Gallagher of North Wildwood by way of the Swamppoodle neighborhood of
Philadelphia passed away peacefully on May 17th at the age of 77. “Only his mother called him
Francis”, so Frank is survived by his Daughter Alisha Bielecki (Walter), son Frank Jr (Jaclyn),
and the lights of his life, his grandchildren Alexandria, Gavin and Athena.
Frank leaves behind his siblings Eileen Dwyer (Vince “Bud”), Mary Kaye Ellis (David), Gerry,
Joseph, and many loving nieces and nephews. Frank is proceeded in death by his parents
Bernard Hugh “Frank” and Catherine Gallagher, his siblings John, Cecilia, Patricia, Kathleen,
James & Daniel.
A self-proclaimed “Warm and Wonderful human-being”, Frank attended St. Columba's Parish as
a child and was proud to have attended North Catholic High School. Outside of his family, Frank
was most proud of being a Combat Army Vietnam Veteran where his service extended long
after in helping fellow veterans obtain benefits; later in life Frank worked as a warehouse-man at
Acme Markets. As a proud Hibernian, Frank served as a past President of AOH 87, and was
later active with the AOH Division 1 in North Wildwood. In the summer you could find Frank on
the inlet beach in NWW, sharing old neighborhood tales at the Elks club, spending time with
family and friends, or watching a Phillies game. Frank loved Notre Dame Football, Philly Sports,
Motown Music, and Traveling around Florida in the winter months visiting family and friends.
Never having the easiest life, Frank was a true fighter until the very end. He’ll be missed by
many whose lives he touched, but his legend will live on.
Family and friends are invited to a viewing Tuesday evening, May 21st, 2024, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Givnish Funeral Home of Cinnaminson. Located at 1200 Route 130 North , Cinnaminson, NJ, 08077. There will be another viewing held the following morning, Wednesday, May 22nd, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., also at the funeral home. Following the viewing there will be a funeral mass Wednesday, starting at 10:30 a.m., at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Cinnaminson. Located at 2500 Branch Pike, Cinnaminson, NJ, 08077. Following mass burial will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Philadelphia, PA. Located at 3301 West Cheltenham Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19150.
