Some of my fondest memories of Fran were his and Lee's summer parties with our sorority. Fran loved to share his backyard sanctuary and was so proud of his gazebo! The music and the merriment made for the perfect time together. Fran's pride and love for his family were never more evident than at Laurens wedding as he toasted the new bride and groom, and made certain that his guests felt at home and like they were part of the family. These and other happy memories will live on in our lives forever.
The memories of Fran that will stay with me for my lifetime will be those shore weekends surf fishing and hanging out on the front porch playing the 60s and 70s oldies that we so loved. We would test each other as to lines, artists, and titles. We were both experts because we loved 60s gold. Those times were golden themselves as was Fran and his friendship. Never have I seen a smile so contagious, so warm, so friendly. His humor was like that of no other friend that I know. I will sorely miss his personality, character, and strength, for these are irreplaceable traits. But I have our memories that will be forever imprinted on my mind and heart.
