Frank J. DiLuzio's Obituary
Francis James DiLuzio Sr., (Frank) 73 of Delran, NJ passed away on Tuesday May 27, 2014.
He was born in Philadelphia, PA on October 14, 1940 to the late Frances Sarah (Dunlap) and Salvatore DiLuzio (Sally and Sam). He was a decorated U S Marine. He is married to Jacqueline (Paolini) DiLuzio, originally of Cinnaminson, NJ.
Frank was a heavy line mechanic for Crown Cork and Seal in Philadelphia for over 35 years and Union Head. After retiring he then worked another twenty years in custodial and food services between Shawnee and Delanco Schools.
Coach DiLuzio was a beloved member of the community, having served as a football and baseball coach for over 38 years as well as commissioner of football for the Delran Bears. He was lovingly referred to as Papa Bear. In addition to having a football Stadium named after him, July 24, 2012 was proclaimed “Frank DiLuzio Day” in the Township of Delran for his many years of voluntary service.
He was a man of strong faith as a founding member Holy Name parish in Delran (currently Resurrection Parish). He enjoyed working with children as a coach and as a volunteer religious education instructor.
Frank is survived by his wife Jacki. Four children, Frank Jr of NY., Alaine and Anthony of NJ and Lynette of PA, and their significant others, Mark and Amanda. As well Tony Zoll, who was loved like a son, and his wife Jess. Frank is also survived by his siblings Charles and Catherine DiLuzio, Betty Jane and Michael Hoffman, Chippy and Jack Schwartz, Jim and Linda DiLuzio, Maria DiLuzio and sister-in-law Virginia Paolini. He is also survived by 16 nieces and nephews, 29 great nieces and nephews, and four grand “pups”, Max, Morpheus, Luna and Haley. He was very fond of Madelyn and Stella, who loved their Pop Pop Frank and his very special ladies from the Hospitality Committee.
A viewing will be held at Snover/Givnish of Cinnaminson 1200 Route 130 North on Sunday June 1, 2014 from 4-9pm and again on Monday June 2 from 8:30-10am. Funeral Mass will be held at Resurrection Parish Church of the Holy Name 260 Conrow Rd Delran, NJ 08057 at 10:30 am with Internment at Lakeview Memorial Park.
