Frank J Gangemi Sr's Obituary
GANGEMI - Frank James Gangemi Sr., of Beverly NJ, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2014. He was 91 years old.
Son of the late Salvatore and Josephine Gangemi (nee Bertino, Zacchei). Frank was the beloved husband of the late Josephine Gangemi (nee Venuto), loving father of Frank J. Gangemi, Jr. and his wife Colleen, of Haddonfield, NJ, Richard S. Gangemi and his wife Nancy of Burlington, NJ, and the late Judith L. Fattorini and the late John Gangemi. Dear Grandfather of Diana Haas of Texas, Amanda Sausen of Maryland, Kelsey and Nicholas Gangemi of Haddonfield, NJ, Angela and Joseph Gangemi of Burlington, NJ, Jodiana and Anthony (Tony) Fattorini of Virginia, and James Fattorini of Maryland. Great-Grandfather to Connor DiBatista of Burlington, NJ.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Samuel, Joseph, and James Gangemi and his sister Mary Nanni. He is survived by brother-in-law Anthony J. Venuto of Edgewater Park, NJ, dear sister-in-law Vita A. Gangemi of Mount Laurel, NJ, and step-brother Nicholas Zacchei and his wife Shirley of Delran, NJ. Very special and favorite Uncle to beloved niece Joanne Kurlecki and husband Al of Beverly, NJ, and special Uncle to beloved niece Deborah Nanni and nephew Dennis Nanni. He has many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends and a loving extended family at Virtua Rehab Center in Mt. Holly, NJ.
Frank loved and endlessly followed sports, especially the Philadelphia teams, (Phillies, Eagles, Flyers, 76ers). Frank was a proud veteran of WWII. He served with distinction from 1942 – 1945 as a Radio Man First Class aboard the USS Winslow, a Porter-Class Destroyer in the North Atlantic.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at Jesus the Good Shephard / St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 524 Warren Street, Beverly, NJ, 08010, at 10:30AM on Friday, July 25. Burial services will take place at 9:30AM (before the Mass), at Beverly National Cemetary, 916 Bridgeboro Road, Beverly, NJ, 08010.
