Gabriel Stankiewicz's Obituary
Gabriel Michael ?Mike? Stankiewicz, a resident of Moorestown, previously a resident of Cinnaminson for 56 years, passed away on August 6, 2012 peacefully at Samaritan Hospice at the age of 92.
Mike served in the U.S. Army during WWII as a combat medic, earning the Bronze Star for heroic action if the line of fire. He was a long time member of Palmyra?s EMS Squad and worked for Schaevitz Engineering in Pennsauken. Mike also donated blood as frequently as they would allow and was recognized by the American Red Cross for donating over 15 gallons.
Mike is survived by his beloved wife Margaret (nee Hund) of 64 years, loving daughter Michelle and her husband Ira Schonfeld of Cinnaminson, and his dear brother Bernard Stankiewicz. He was a close friend to his deceased brother Vincent?s children Victoria, Vincent Junior, William, Anthony and Joseph.
Mike was a devout Catholic and attended St. Charles Borromeo Church several days a week until he was no longer able to.
A memorial service will be held at Brandywine Senior Living on a date to be determined. Donations in his name may be made to the Samaritan Hospice, 5 Eves Drive, Suite 300, Marlton, NJ 08053. It is fitting that he died in Samaritan Hospice since he truly embodied the principle of the Good Samaritan.
