Gary T. Wilkie's Obituary
Gary T. Wilkie passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 24, 2019, at the Samaritan Hospice, Mt. Holly with his family by his side.
Born in Trenton, NJ, Gary was 65 years old. He was a resident of Delran since 1982 and formerly lived in Florence Township.
Predeceased by his loving wife Susan J. (née McCarthy) and his parents H. Kenneth and Leatrice Wilkie. Gary is survived by his children Amanda (David) Bien, Matthew (Amy) Hall and Michael (Etienne) Hall. Poppi to Alyssa, Andrew, Ava, Adele, Austin and Michael. Brother of Ken (Nancy), Keith (Joanne), David (Eileen) and Craig (Tammy). Nephew of Ed Wilson. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and several cousins.
Gary was employed as a toll collector and maintenance worker for the NJ Turnpike Authority from 1988 to his retirement in 2013. Previously he was employed by Hooker Chemical and SuperFresh. He was a member of the AFL-CIO Local 194.
He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan.
Gary enjoyed classic rock and roll; playing his guitar; exercising especially riding his bike. In his later years, he became curious about science and history. This propelled him into watching programs and reading books that gave him greater understanding of our world.
Most importantly, Gary enjoyed being with his family.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday, March 2nd, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at Givnish of Cinnaminson 1200 Route 130 North.
His Funeral Service will follow at 12 p.m.
