George T. Berkey's Obituary
George T. Berkey, 75, of Pennsauken, NJ, passed away unexpectedly on October 10, 2025. Born in Woodbury, NJ on June 26, 1950, he was the son of the late George T. Berkey and Peggy Ann Dugan.
Beloved husband of 53 years to Nancy Ann Berkey (née Riehl). Loving father of the late Andrea Berkey and the late Daniel P. Berkey. Dear brother of Ronnie Magri (Tom), Rosemary Dugan (Kiley), Garry Berkey, Jeff Berkey, Rosemary Berkey and the late Patricia Pettit. Brother-in-law of Linda Gohl (Jack), Brenda Farmer (Jeff), and the late Walter Riehl. Son-in-law of the late Ruth DiDonato. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and countless good friends.
George proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He worked for many years as a baker with Nabisco in Philadelphia. George loved to travel—especially to the islands—and was an avid movie lover, casino-goer, and devoted fan of all Philadelphia sports teams. Beneath his tough-guy exterior, George was one of the kindest men you could ever meet. He would do anything for anyone. A wonderful husband and devoted father, he will be deeply missed.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, October 16th, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Givnish of Cinnaminson, 1200 Route 130 North, Cinnaminson, NJ, followed by a memorial service at 12:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, and in George’s memory, please laugh, be kind, and make memories with friends and family—just as he always did.
