George Telford Faraghan's Obituary
George Faraghan, a nationally recognized commercial photographer, inventor and World War II veteran, passed away at his home in Cinnaminson on May 29, 2017. He was 90 years old.
George was a highly competitive distance runner and track star at Olney High School in Philadelphia and was awarded a college scholarship to Penn State but chose to enter the Navy during World War II. He saw combat on the USS Alaska in the Pacific. After his discharge George became a Commercial Photographer with a studio in Philadelphia and received national recognition for his work. He retired from Commercial Photography after four decades and turned his business over to his sons. He then invented a UV (Ultra Violet) camera used by Pharmaceutical companies to obtain FDA approval for their skin treatment products as well as by Dermatologists to identify potential cancerous growths. George also enjoyed auto racing, was a member of the SCCA for many years and raced a winning Formula B race car.
George was the loving husband of the late Ida Faraghan (nee Hanley) for 66 years. Father of Karen Cooke (Jim), Kim Faraghan (Robert Braverman), Kyle Loreaux, Ken Faraghan (Suzanne), and the late Kurt Faraghan (Cindy). Dear grandfather to 12 and great grandfather to 6.
