Many of my memories of Plymouth Meeting include the Wood family! Mr. Wood was a wonderful neighbor - I remember him flying over our houses when he was away on his reserve weekends and how excited that made us. I also especially remember my sister Pat and I getting stuck in a quagmire of mud in the Wood/Reifsnyder back yard as we tried to walk from the churchyard to our home after a few days of heavy rain. Couldn't move an inch. Mr. Wood came and literally pulled us out of our galoshes (which remained stuck in the mud) to rescue us. I remember him coming to our house to get my mother so she could help him when Mrs. Wood went into labor and there wasn't time to get to the hospital. I remember him helping take care of my brother when he put his hand through the storm door and cut it so badly. It was also a great privilege to become "grown-up" friends with Mr. and Mrs. Wood in later years when they would visit us any time Mother and Daddy came up from Florida. That was when I came to appreciate his dry with and great good humor. The world is a little less bright for his leaving it. Bless the family that loves and remembers him! Kate (Tucker) Monaghan
