Georgette Drake 2/17/1940 – 7/19/2025
Georgette “GiGi” Drake, of Kure Beach, North Carolina passed away peacefully at home on July 19, 2025. She was born February 17, 1940 in Elizabeth, New Jersey to the late George and Anna Jindracek (Belesky). She also formerly resided in Monroe Township and Old Bridge NJ for many years before moving to the beach.
Georgette was the beloved wife of Charles “Charley” for 65 years. She was the devoted mother to 4 children: Dr. Charles “Chuck” Drake, MD, PhD (Angela Christiano, PhD), Misty Drake (Alfred Panaccio), Noelle Drake-Hollingsworth (Chris Hollingsworth), Christopher Drake (Patcy Drake). She is the cherished grandparents of Riley and Wolfgang Drake, Carly McLaury (Alex), Julia Corbisiero, Donovan and Miranda “Mandy” Hollingsworth, George and Lance Drake. She is survived by her brother- in–law, Robert Drake and sister–in - law, Sandy Drake.
Deeply devoted in her Catholic faith, Georgette never missed mass and sang in the choir for 40 years. She took pride of raising her children in the church. Being active in the Rosary Club, Catholic Daughters of America and volunteering at the Help Center and church always brought her happiness. She was an avid animal lover- especially feeding the little ducklings, liked listening to music, reading romance novels, a former jogger, writing articles, and loving the beach life. The most treasured time was spent at the Casinos with her sweetheart, Charley.
Even though she had Multiple Sclerosis she never let that define her life. She faced many challenges with grace, never complained and was a brave warrior until the end.
A gathering of friends and family will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025 with visitation at 10:15 followed by a Resurrection Mass at St. Joan of Arc Church, Marlton. After services Repass will be at Filomena’s in Berlin, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Georgette’s name to Animal Welfare Association or Vitality Hospice.
