Gerald W. Mather's Obituary
Gerald W. Mather passed away peacefully on July 1, 2025, at the age of 76. Born in Colby, Kansas to the late Harold and Mildred Jean Mather, Gerry was a longtime resident of Pennsauken, NJ, where he lived since 1978.
Gerry was raised by his mother Mildred Jean and her husband Joseph Myers who were married 1958.
Gerry proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He went on to work as a purchasing agent for A & G Distributors in Camden and later as a truck driver for various companies throughout his career.
He is predeceased by his siblings, Nicholas Paonessa and Carol Mantai. Gerry is survived by his sister, Helen Morganstern, and several beloved nieces and nephews, including Brian, William, Dana, Michael, and Nicholas, along with many other extended family members.
In his younger years, Gerry was an avid sports fan who loved cheering on the Eagles, Phillies, and Flyers. He was also affectionately known as the mascot for his nephew Brian’s hockey team, the Bristol Blazers, a role he took great pride in.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, July 8th from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Givnish of Cinnaminson, 1200 Route 130 North. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park in Cinnaminson.
