Gerald R. Thomson's Obituary
Gerald R. Thomson passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at Samaritan Hospice in Mt. Holly with his family by his side. Born in Philadelphia to Allan and Beulah Thomson, Jerry was 83 years old. He was a resident of Willingboro and formerly lived in Maple Shade and Philadelphia.
Beloved husband of 62 years to Noreen (nee Clancy), loving father of Gerald R. Thomson, Jr., Noreen (Robert Morton) Miller and Deborah (William) Laycock.
Cherished Pop-pop to George (Kathryn) Miller, Benjamin Miller, Brittney Laycock, Allyssa Laycock and Hailey Laycock.
Great grandfather to Maxwell and Montgomery.
Brother of David (Laverne) Thomson and the late Milton (Mary) Thomson.
Jerry proudly served his country in the US Air Force.
He was a retired exterminator for Boned Pest Control in Jenkintown, PA.
Jerry enjoyed fishing, playing the lottery, and going to the casino. At home he could always be found sitting in his recliner controlling the tv remote so he could watch his favorite game shows and cowboy movies. He was always napping in his recliner but if you knew Jerry you know he could nap literally anywhere at anytime! If you were in the same room as him chances are he would give you a task to do. You could count on Jerry to make you laugh with his witty remarks and jokes. He was always the LOUDEST singer in the room when singing “happy birthday”. Jerry had a giant sweet tooth. He loved ice cream sandwiches and honey buns - almost as much as he loved playing the number. He never won the millions but his family certainly hit the jackpot with him! We hope you finally “hit it big” up there!
Since Jerry will be leaving us in his signature flannel shirt, blue jeans and slicked hair; we ask everyone to join us in their best flannels and blue jeans to say good bye.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Jerry’s graveside service along with Military Honors Wednesday, May 8th 11 a.m. at Brigadier General William C. Doyle/NJ Veterans Cemetery 350 Provinceline Road Wrightstown, NJ 08562.
Please arrive at the cemetery entrance by 10:30 a.m.
