Gerald Vitelli's Obituary
Gerald Vitelli, fondly known as Jerry or Buzzy, 87, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on February 19,2024. Jerry enjoyed a long and successful career in finance. Jerry was a gifted athlete in basketball, baseball and football. His true passion was golf. He was an avid golfer for 56 years. The only thing he loved more than golf was his family, which he put before everything else. Jerry graduated from Red Bank Catholic High School in 1954, and he was a Korean War Veteran serving in the US Army from 1955-1958. He was proud to have served his country. He was a Cinnaminson resident for the last 5 years, formerly living in Delran for 53 years. He was predeceased by his parents Gerald and Josephine Vitelli and by his sister Carol Caivano (Joe). Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Margaret (Peg) nee Hagerty, his daughter, Valerie O’Brien and her husband, Michael and his son, Gerald, Jr. and his wife, Mary. He was a devoted grandfather to four grandsons, Anthony and Vincent Vitelli and Michael and Connor O’Brien. Also surviving is his cherished sister, Phyllis Armenti and her husband, George, a brother in law, Edward Hagerty and his wife, Jean, his sister in law Barbara Mongo and her husband, Anthony and many caring nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held on Monday, February 26,2024 from 6-8 PM at Givnish Funeral Home 1200 Route 130 North, Cinnaminson and Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at 10:00 to 10:30am followed by 11:00 Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Church, 103 Fourth Street, Riverton. The family would like to thank the nurses and reception staff at Jefferson Cherry Hill Infusion Center for their excellent care and kindness.
