Geraldine (DeStefano) Bruno, a longtime resident of Cherry Hill, NJ passed away peacefully at the age of 89 on April 10, 2020. Gerry was predeceased by her beloved husband of 65 years, Richard. She was a devoted mother to daughters Theresa Bruno and Rosemary Feeley, (Michael) both of Marlton, NJ and her cherished grandchildren Shannon Feeley and Richard Feeley (fiance Amanda Borba). She had many nieces and nephews who always held a special place in her heart.
Born July 11, 1930, the daughter of devoted parents Rose and Eugene, she was the youngest of eight children, predeceased by Albert, Lillian, Armond, Antoinette, Eugene, Edward, and Florence. She shared stories of her doting parents and her protective brothers and sisters growing up in a small Italian neighborhood in Philadelphia.
Together Gerry and Richard built a loving home which was the family’s center. Gerry enjoyed being in her kitchen cooking recipe favorites and her children and grandchildren will always fondly remember the treasured tradition of Sunday dinners. Simple pleasures in life brought her joy, like Chocolate Hershey’s Kisses for dessert and Hallmark movies.
She loved her Catholic faith and was a loyal parishioner of Holy Eucharist Church in Cherry Hill.
Gerry lived the last year of her life at Allegria at the Fountains in Waterford Township, NJ. Her family expresses thanks to the staff that cared for her.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Samaritan Hospice of Voorhees. We are eternally grateful to the nurses who were her compassionate angels in her final days. A private ceremony will be held at Givnish Funeral Home in Marlton, NJ on Thursday followed by Entombment at Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson, NJ.
