Geraldine G. Flanagan's Obituary
On Thursday, April 22, 2021, Geraldine (Gerry) Flanagan, nee Kilgallon, loving wife of the late Richard Flanagan and mother to Brian (Maureen), the late John (Joan), Kathleen (Terrence), Donald (Laurie), James (Wendy), grandmother to 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren passed away at the age of 88. Gerry was one of 6 siblings- the late Jacky, Marge (Dick), and Jim (Marie), who is survived by Pat (Tom), Don (Kathy).
Gerry was born on April 7, 1933, in Chicago, IL to the late Jack and Cecelia (Heslin) Kilgallon. She received her nursing degree from St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing in 1954 and practiced nursing for 41 years. Gerry had a passion for reading, singing, and playing the keyboard. She enjoyed the Jersey Shore and going on car rides. She was known for her smiling personality, and her kind, caring spirit.
Gerry met Rich in California while he was in the Marines and she was working as a nurse. They were married in Chicago in 1956, moved to Philadelphia where they lovingly raised 5 children. Gerry and Rich retired in Lancaster County, PA before moving to Delran, NJ where Gerry was an active member of the Ashley Crossing Community and Holy Name Church.
A funeral mass will be held Wednesday, April 28, 2021, at Resurrection Parish, Holy Name Church. 260 Conrow Rd. Delran, NJ 08075. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 am, followed by the burial of ashes in Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Delran Emergency Squad at DelranEMS.org
