I have such warm and vivid memories of Mrs. Smith. As I grew up and began navigating my own path, trying to balance career and family, I often thought of her. I can still picture her pulling up in front of my house in that gray Cavalier, dressed in a sharp, professional outfit, to give Lauren and me a ride to school before she headed into the office. She was a trailblazer — one of the first women I remember who showed me what it looked like to pursue a career with purpose while raising a family with love, grace, and strength. Her presence, determination, and example left a lasting impression on me, and I feel deeply grateful to have witnessed her in action.
Lauren, Stephanie and Mr. Smith, I’m so sorry for your loss. I hope you find comfort in knowing how deeply she touched the lives of others — and how fondly she is remembered. My heart is with you as you grieve and navigate the sorrow of losing someone so special.
Warmly,
Cate Cook
