Gerrie Koszarek's Obituary
Geraldine T. Koszarek (nee Zarenkiewicz), affectionately known as “Gerrie,” passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at her residence in Cinnaminson with her loving family by her side. She was 78 years old.
Born in Philadelphia to the late Mitchell and Stephanie (nee Kadlubowski) Zarenkiewicz, Gerrie was raised in the Bridesburg section of Philadelphia. She became a devoted resident of Cinnaminson in 1979, where she built a life centered around family, faith, and community.
Gerrie worked as an office clerk at Holman Truck Center, where she formed many lifelong friendships. She was a faithful and active parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Parish since 1979. Her deep love for Jesus and serving others was evident in the many church ministries she supported over the years.
One of the highlights of Gerrie’s year was the annual St. Charles Carnival. She volunteered every evening and even proudly served as chairperson one year alongside her husband. She also treasured her involvement with the Simbang Gabi Committee, where she celebrated faith and friendship with her Filipino community.
Gerrie found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved planting flowers, especially her favorite pink roses. She enjoyed shopping for the best deals and always seemed to have the perfect coupon for any occasion. Christmas was her favorite time of year, and she delighted in hosting a large family dinner every Christmas Day. Her Christmas tree would often remain up long after the holiday, as she never wanted the season to end.
She also loved playing the card game SCAT—somehow always managing to win—and was famous among family and friends for her special homemade brownies that no one could resist.
Gerrie cherished summer days spent outdoors, especially relaxing by the family pool, and looked forward each year to vacations in Ocean City, New Jersey, where she loved sitting on the beach surrounded by family.
Above all, Gerrie had a heart of gold. She would do anything to help someone in need, whether they were family, friends, neighbors, or complete strangers. Her kindness, generosity, and joyful spirit will be remembered by all who knew her.
Gerrie was the beloved wife of 53 years to Tony Koszarek. She was a loving mother to Tony Koszarek, Jr. and Michele (Frank) Pallante, and a cherished “GG” and “Ger-Bear” to Stephanie, Frankie, and Sophia. She is also survived by her brother, Mitchell “Chuck” Zarenkiewicz, as well as many nieces, nephews, and the most amazing friends and neighbors.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Sunday, March 15, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Givnish of Cinnaminson, 1200 Route 130 North, Cinnaminson, NJ.
Gerrie’s Eulogy and Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:15 a.m. on Monday, March 16, 2026, at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 2600 Branch Pike, Cinnaminson, NJ 08077.
If desired, memorial contributions may be made in Gerrie’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
