Giuseppe "Joe" Erardi's Obituary
Giuseppe “Joe” Erardi, 84, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2022. Born in Torre del Greco, Naples, Italy to the late Alfonso and Annunziata Erardi. Husband to the late Priscilla Erardi (Koob). Dear father to Vincent Erardi (Debbie) and Harry Erardi (Melissa). Beloved Pop Pop George to Brandon (Ali), Giuseppe “Joseph”, John, Julia, Dominic, and Daniel. Great Grandpop to Logan. Brother to Annunzia Sbarro (Mario) and the late Lucio Erardi (Rose Marie). He will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Giuseppe immigrated from Italy in 1954 and settled in Brooklyn, NY. He started with Sbarro in the early 60’s in the original Salumeria in Brooklyn, NY and became corporate executive chef who opened restaurants and developed recipes all around the world.
He was an avid soccer fan, especially of the Italian National and Napoli teams. Most of all he lived for his family, especially his grandchildren.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, June 6th from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at Givnish of Maple Shade, and again the following morning from 9:00am to 10:00am. His funeral mass will follow at 10:30am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help of Maple Shade. Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery in Cherry Hill. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, stjude.org
