Gloria V Lihotz's Obituary
Gloria V. Lihotz (nee Puya), of Cinnaminson, NJ, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side, on March 4, 2023, at the age of 90.
Gloria and her beloved husband of 67 years, the late Francis “Frank” Lihotz, moved to Cinnaminson where they and their children the late Frank R. Lihotz (Kathryn), Marie E. Lihotz (Louis Procacci), Lynne A. Lihotz and Jeanne L. Lihotz, created their home for sixty years. Gloria cherished her grandchildren, Christina Procacci (Anthony Tolentino), John Lihotz, and Joseph Procacci (Amanda), as well as her great grandchildren Zoey, Greta, Vincenzo and Isabella.
While in her 30’s, Gloria pursued her passion for music. She earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Opera. Gloria’s stunning Soprano voice was perfectly suited for the lead roles in Puccini’s Madame Butterfly, La Boheme, Tosca or Verdi’s La Traviata. She was a faculty member of what is now Philadelphia’s University of the Arts, teaching voice in the Conservatory and Dance Divisions, and the studios at the Merchantville Academy of Music. Changes in her life refocused her efforts to volunteering for the American Cancer Society and Contact of Burlington County. She was an active member of the St. Charles Borromeo community, where she served in many groups including as a Women’s Circle leader. Whether reading her vast non-fiction library or conducting her weekly Wednesday discussions with friends, Gloria never stopped learning and teaching.
A gathering of friends and family will be held on Friday, March 10, 2023 beginning at 9:30 am along with a prayer service at 10:30am at Givnish of Cinnaminson, 1200 Route 130 North . Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gloria’s name may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, www.stjude.org
