Helen Chambers' Obituary
Helen Chambers, a cherished resident of Voorhees, NJ, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2024. She lived a long fulfilling 99 years of life, which is truly a blessing.
She was born June 23, 1924 in Camden, NJ to Walter A. and Helen Levis (Eckersley).
She graduated from Camden Catholic in 1942 and lived for many years in Maple Shade. She enjoyed traveling and working with the public, particularly when she worked for Rosenbluth Travel and Travel One travel agencies. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, and later, a member of the choir at St. Gregory’s Catholic Church in Magnolia.
Helen was known for her warmth, generosity, and love for her family and friends. Helen was the beloved wife of the late Edward Chambers and the late William Hillman; loving mother to William Hillman Jr. (Leigh), Helen A. Phillips (Wayne), Robert Hillman (Michele), and Ruth J. Vollmer (Thomas). Cherished grandmother to Kristen Hillman (Michael Gilbert), Scott Phillips (April Cummings), Blake Phillips (Jamie Matteucci), David A. Kelley (Anne), Darcy E. Kelley, Caitlin Hillman (Mitch Kimmel), and Clare Hillman; adored great-grandmother to Colin Phillips and Hudson Kimmel.
Her kindness and love will be deeply missed by many other family members and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion, and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation at Givnish of Maple Shade on Friday May 3, 2024, from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm with service to follow, located at 600 Main Street Maple Shade, NJ 08052.
