Helen M. Engel's Obituary
Helen M. Engel (nee Scheetz) passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at her residence with her family by her side. Born in Philadelphia to Thomas and Kathryn Scheetz, Helen was 87 years old. She was a resident of Cinnaminson for the last 57 years. Beloved wife of 67 years to Robert O. Engel. Loving mother to Robert (Susan) Engel, John (Laurie) Engel, Joanne (James) Robinson, Patricia (William) Covert and Dorothy “Dee” (Eric) Heicklen. Cherished Grandmom and Nana to Johnny, Laura, Chris, Katie, Michelle, Billy, Bobby and Shannon. Great grandmother of Lily, James and Claire. Helen’s home and heart were always open to her children’s friends, many of whom she considered her “adopted” family. Long-term relationships were started with friends across the Atlantic and all around the country when Helen was still in grade school and continued throughout her life.
Helen is predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Kathryn Scheetz and her sister Dorothy Scheetz.
Helen loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed her trips to Atlantic City and Las Vegas to play the slot machines and enjoy buffet dinners with her husband.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Wednesday, May 25th, from 10-11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church 103 Fourth Street, Riverton, NJ. Helen’s Memorial Mass will follow 11 a.m.
Inurnment will be for the immediate family at Holy Cross Cemetery in Yeadon, PA, at a future date.
