Helen McCracken's Obituary
Helen McCracken, 74, of Marlton, NJ, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on September 26, 2025.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, on April 18, 1951, to Raymond and Helen R.M. McCracken, Helen was the devoted wife of Jacqueline Carroll (nee Wonsetler). She was a loving second mother to Michael Carroll (Jennifer) and Lisa Carroll (Frankie DeJesus), and proud “Mom Mom” to Samantha and Sydney Carroll. She is also survived by her brother Raymond McCracken (Joanne) and was predeceased by her brother Robert McCracken (Amelia). She will be lovingly remembered by her many nieces and nephews.
Helen grew up in Philadelphia before moving to Pine Hill, NJ, at age nine. She briefly worked at the DuPont Corporation before attending Glassboro State College (now Rowan University), where she earned her teaching degree. While attending school full time, she also worked full time as a custodian for the Haddonfield School District. After graduating, she became an elementary and middle school teacher in the Pine Hill School District, where she worked until her retirement in 2013.
It was during her years working in Haddonfield that she met her beloved wife and best friend, Jackie, with whom she shared 39 wonderful years. Teaching was Helen’s passion, and she also loved playing and coaching softball, leaving a lasting impact on her students and athletes throughout the years.
Helen loved music and cherished spending time with her many friends from all walks of life. She proudly embraced her “hippie” spirit and enjoyed traveling with Jackie to national parks and their favorite destination, Ocean City, NJ.
A gathering of friends and family will be held at a later date. Donations in Helen’s memory may be made to the American Kidney Fund or the Voorhees Animal Orphanage.
