Helen McGee's Obituary
Helen McGee (nee Lee), of Cinnaminson, previously of Tacony and the Villas, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on May 22, 2021.
Born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Joseph and Mary Lee, she was 95 years old. Helen lived a life of devotion and love of her faith and her family. She was an active member of the Ascension, Saint Leo, Saint Raymond's and Sacred Heart Parishes. As a proud alumni of Little Flower High School Class of 1943, she received Honorable Mention as a nominee of the 2019 Distinguished Alumna Award. She was a Rosie the Riveter at the young age of 18 at the Philadelphia Navy Yard. Helen served as a volunteer in various non- profit charities over her lifetime including the Southeastern Pennsylvania ProLife Federation, Blessed Margaret of Castillo Home for Crisis Pregnancies and the Christ Child Society of Cape May County. Her love of travel took her around the world including trips to Portugal, Ireland, Israel, Hawaii and many other states throughout the US. She loved the seashore and cherished her time spent with friends and family at her home in the Villas. Her zest for life was unsurpassed.
Helen will be sorely missed by many.
Helen was the beloved wife of the late Hugh McGee. She was a loving mother to Kathleen Wszolek (Steve), Mary Ann Lorimer (Tom), Theresa Sadowl (Bob), and Thomas McGee. She was predeceased by her sons, Hugh McGee (Charlene) and Patrick McGee. Helen was the cherished grandmother of Colleen McGee, Christine Tyson (Rob), Hugh McGee (Darlene), Steven Wszolek (Kari), Matt Wszolek (Diane), Dan Wszolek (Lauren), Maria Quinn, Rachelle Quinn, Vanessa DeLuca (Sam), Amy Wess (Bill), Amanda Murray (Adam), and Valerie Sadowl. Great grandmother of Johnny, Michael, Caitlin, Megan, Brianna, Aaron, Hugh, Aidan, Ed, Carol, Matthew, Jessica, Sarah, Tyler, Dylan, Kozette, Tsebay, Isaiah, Hayden, Myla, and Billy. Dear sister of Joseph Lee (Barbara), Betty Dydek (late Ed), Mary Cloran (late Henry), the late Marguerite Carpenter, the late Loretta Farlow, and the late Robert Lee. Sister-in-law of Pat McGee Mundy. Helen is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends who will miss her tremendously.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at Sacred Heart Church, 4th Street and Linden Ave, Riverton, on Thursday, June 3rd, from 9:30 am to 11 am. Her Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 am, followed by interment in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, 1215 Super Highway, Langhorne, PA, 19047.
