Herman R. Trout Jr.'s Obituary
Herman R. Trout, Jr. passed away peacefully on July 25, 2018. Herman was born in Lancaster, PA on December 31, 1923. He lived in the Palmyra/Riverton area since 1952. Loving husband to the late Anne E. (nee Caruso) for 60 years. Dear father to Roy of Dunnellon, FL and Bruce of Egg Harbor Township, NJ. Grandfather to Amy, Ryan, Jessica, and Roy, Jr. Great Grandfather to Cole, Brett, Dean, Ava, Ben, Kate and Jane. Brother to Robert (Ruth), the late Edward (Edna), Ken (Carol) and Dottie. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Herman graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School (Camden, NJ) in 1942. Lettered in Soccer and track. He enlisted in the Army on November 11, 1942 and served 32 months in the Pacific with C. Battery, 98th AAA Gun Bn. Participated in invasions of Kwajalein, Eniwetok and Okinawa. A member of Christ Episcopal Church in Palmyra, NJ, and served as an acolyte over 40 years. A production foreman for RCA in Camden for 22 years. Worked for Collingswood Bd. Of Ed. and ShopRite for 17 years. Coached little league baseball in Palmyra for 6 years. A Life Member of the American Legion and the VFW. A 7 gal. member of the Camden County Blood Bank.
Entombment will be held at Lakeview Memorial Park on Wednesday, August 1 at 12pm. A memorial service will follow at 1pm at Riverview Estates, 303 Bank Ave in Riverton, NJ, followed by a luncheon downstairs. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to “Tree of Hope” at Riverview Estates.
