Howard W. Stoneback Jr's Obituary
Howard W. Stoneback, Jr. passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at his residence in Cinnaminson, surrounded by his loving wife and family. Born in Allentown, New Jersey, to Howard W. and Grace M. (née Moll) Stoneback, Sr., Howard was 91 years old. He had been a resident of Cinnaminson since 1971.
Beloved husband of 69 years to Gertrude K. (née Kane) Stoneback, Howard was the devoted father of the late Nancy Stoneback, Kathleen (Brad) Berr, Michael (Kristin) Stoneback, Susan Stoneback, and Karen (Gary) Herron. He was the cherished Pop of the late Nicole (Emily), Sean (Deanna), Kristopher (Tammy), Ryan (Jessica), Samantha (Garrett), Nicholas (Morgan), and Allyson, and proud great-grandfather of Isaac, Nathaniel, Audrey, Quinn, Charlotte, Camryn, and Colton James. Howard is also survived by his brother, Dr. Alan Stoneback and his loving nieces and nephew; Amy Dallas, Susan Hechler, Ann Kerr, Ellen Smyser and Richard Stoneback.
Howard earned his bachelor’s degree from Lafayette College, where he excelled as a pitcher and proudly recorded two no-hitters during his collegiate baseball career. He enjoyed a successful career in the automotive finance industry, serving as Branch Manager for Ford Motor Credit in King of Prussia from 1971 until his retirement in 1997.
A devoted Philadelphia sports fan, Howard especially loved cheering for the Phillies and Eagles. He will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his strong work ethic, and the many friendships he cultivated throughout his life.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Givnish of Cinnaminson, 1200 Route 130 North, Cinnaminson, NJ. Howard’s Life Celebration Service will begin at 5:00 p.m.
Burial will be private at Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson.
