Ida M. Armstrong's Obituary
Ida M. Armstrong, of Medford, formerly of Maple Shade, passed away on February 20, 2018 on the very same day that her husband passed away 35 years before. She was in her 100th year of life and was a stoic woman who was strong until the end. She met her husband, Martin Armstrong, at a dance at the Barlow Mansion in Maple Shade and they married on August 2nd, 1941.
When her husband was drafted, she accompanied him to South Carolina until he was shipped out to join the war effort. During the war, Ida worked at RCA as the supervisor of the assembly line and later assisted her husband in running a local law practice where she further extended her heart and helping hand to the community.
She gave birth to a son, Martin, in 1949 and later to a daughter, Nancy, in 1956. She devoted herself to her family, was selfless and always putting others before herself. Ida became the matriarch of the family standing by everyone in their time of need. She devoted herself to her children and then her great-grandchildren who called her Gigi. She was steadfast and the cornerstone upon which everyone relied upon throughout her life. Her love always lifted and guided her family, and now she can continue from above.
Ida was the beloved wife of the late Martin A. Armstrong, Sr. Loving mother of Martin A. Armstrong Jr. and Nancy DiVincenzo. Dear grandmother of Martin Armstrong (Michele) and Vicky Reinert (Craig). Great grandmother of Maia and Marina Armstrong, and Gracie Ida and Gwen Reinert.
