Ingrid M. Dietiker's Obituary
Ingrid Margot Dietiker, 81, of West Berlin, NJ, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2026, with her family by her side.
Born on September 30, 1944, in Karlshafen, Germany, Ingrid was the daughter of Dieter and Ortrud Sasche. She was the devoted wife of the late Kurt Dietiker, with whom she shared 47 wonderful years before his passing in 2011.
She was a loving mother to Tracy Wilhelm and Kai Dietiker (the late Christina), and a cherished “Omi” to Drew and Kyle Wilhelm, and Kai and Gavin Dietiker. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Kay Durham and was predeceased by her brother-in-law, John.
Ingrid immigrated to the United States at the age of four during wartime. As a young woman, she returned to Germany to attend a private high school in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Before leaving for school, she met the love of her life, Kurt, who was enlisted in the Navy. It was love at first sight—so much so that Kurt arranged to be stationed in Iceland and bravely crossed the artic circle so they could be together. They later settled in Washington, DC, where they raised their family.
Ingrid held tightly to her German heritage and traditions. She always made sure Nikolaus filled the shoes on December 5th, lovingly prepared Rouladen on Christmas Eve and hosted many Kaffeetrinkens.
She had a passion for sewing, knitting, and crocheting, and enjoyed camping with her family when her children were young. Many happy memories were made boating, water skiing, and fishing along the Delaware River.
Ingrid was a kind and generous woman who always put others first and wanted everyone around her to be happy. She had a special love for dogs, especially her beloved Cooper aka “Coopey”, who was by her side for 14 ½ years. Together, they enjoyed daily walks and an active lifestyle.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, March 28th, from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Givnish of Marlton, 398 E. Main Street, Marlton, NJ, with a memorial service beginning at 2:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Ingrid’s memory may be made to the Animal Welfare Association in Voorhees, NJ.
