Irene Alice Bailey's Obituary
Irene Alice Bailey (nee Van Zant), a resident of Maple Shade, passed away on July 19th, 2025, at the age of 96 surrounded by her family.
Born in the Olney section of Philadelphia her family moved to Maple Shade where she lived for 60 years and built a loving home and shared many cherished memories with her family and friends.
Irene was the beloved wife of 66 years to the late Daniel Bailey Sr. mother of Daniel Bailey Jr., Robin Hunt (Thomas), and the late James and Rick Bailey. Dear sister of George Baker (Karen) and the late Jack Van Zant. Irene was the proud grandmother of 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
A wife, mother and friend, Irene enjoyed gardening, painting, reading, arts and crafts, sewing (especially cross-stitching), and bowling. She was a member of the Eastern Star, an active member of St. John Lutheran in Williamstown, NJ, and dedicated her time to various clubs where she served in many leadership roles.
One of her greatest joys was entertaining with family and friends. She had a loving spirit and generous heart and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Life Celebration on Friday, July 25th, 2025, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Givnish’s of Maple Shade, 600 E. Main Street. The service will commence at 12:00 p.m.
Interment will be private.
