Irene A Ryan's Obituary
Irene A. Ryan (nee Parks), 92 years old, passed away on September 8, 2016 surrounded by her loving daughters. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. Devoted wife for 50 years of the late William D. Ryan. Dear mother to Mary Matos (Jose) of Milmay, NJ; Barbara Materniak (Don) of Steubenville, OH; Allison Booz (Allen) of Philadelphia, PA; and Catherine Ryan of Cinnaminson, NJ. Grandmother to Kevin Gaines, Amy Fontecchio, Mark Materniak and Thomas Materniak. Great grandmother to Caelan Gaines, Serena, Anthony, John, Lucia, Gianna, and Caeli Fontecchio, and Cora and Felicity Materniak.
Irene raised her family in Willingboro, NJ, where she was an active communicant of Corpus Christi R. C. Church, a member of the Alter and Rosary Society, and volunteered for several organizations, including American Red Cross, where she was recognized for donating over 100 pints of blood.
After moving to Medford, NJ, Irene and Bill enjoyed their retirement years together, and they were members of St. Mary of the Lakes R. C. Church for over 20 years. She also enjoyed 15+ years of the friendships she made through a Bereavement group after losing her husband in 1999.
Friends and relatives are invited to celebrate Irene's life on Wednesday, September 21st, from 9:00am to 10:00am at Snover Givnish of Cinnaminson, 1200 Route 130 N. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am, at St. Charles Borromeo Roman Catholic Church, on the corners of Branch Pike and Pomona Road in Cinnaminson. Burial will follow at 1:00pm at Brigadier General Wm. C. Doyle Veteran's Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ. Irene’s family extends their sincere gratitude to the caregivers, nurses, administration and staff at Arden Courts Assisted Living for Residents with Dementia in Cherry Hill, NJ.
