Jacquelyn M Burton's Obituary
Jacqulyn M. Burton of Delran, NJ passed away on October 20th, 2018. She was 76 years of age.
“Jackie” was born November 24, 1941 in McBee, S.C. and was a resident of Delran for the last 49 years. She is survived by her loving husband, Morris Burton and her devoted sons, Darren of Delran and Bryan (Mary) of Waterloo Iowa. Jackie was a doting grandmother to Anthony (Lindsey), Myles, Mia and Hunter Burton. She is also survived by her sisters Celesta Cordy and Adrienne Powell of Clementon, NJ and a host of nieces and nephews. Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, Eula Mae (Charles) Cordy and Walter (Virginia) Hall and her sisters Rose McFarland and Catherine Brown.
She graduated from West Catholic HS in Philadelphia and is a graduate of Glassboro State College with a Master's in special education. She was a special education teacher in Riverside, Willingboro and Camden for 19 years. She was wonderful with children and especially children with special needs. Jackie was very involved with her sorority – AKA. Her sorority sisters were family to her and their love and devotion to Jackie was amazing.
Jackie was a very special person who always put others before herself. She was very involved with her church, Resurrection Parish, where she was a parishioner for over 30 years. During that time, she volunteered as a CCD teacher, Eucharistic Minister and held a regular time on Fridays at 5pm for many years at the Adoration Chapel.
A gathering of friends and family will be held on Thursday, October 25th from 6- 8pm at Givnish of Cinnaminson, 1200 Route 130 North. On Friday, October 26th a viewing will be held from 10-11:00am at Resurrection Parish, St. Casimir’s Site, 502 New Jersey Ave, Riverside NJ, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11am. Interment will be held at Lakeview Memorial Park in Cinnaminson, 1300 Route 130 North. Repass will be held at the Knights of Columbus in Delran, 939 Bridgeboro St. following the burial.
