James Kenneth Aggrey's Obituary
James Kenneth Gboshe Aggrey, of Mount Laurel, NJ, passed away on May 24, 2020 at the age of 67. He was born in Cross River State, Nigeria to the late Sir Sennen Ekpung Aggrey, KSM and the late Lady Rose Manya Aggrey, LKSM on July 6, 1952.
James went to St. Joseph Primary School in Bansara, Ogoja, where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC). He proceeded to Boki Boys Secondary School, Okundi – Boki for his Secondary Education, which was interrupted by the Nigerian Civil War in 1967 to 1970. He completed his Secondary Education in Government Secondary School, Obudu.
He then went to MaryKnoll College in Okuku, Yala, Cross River State, Nigeria for Higher School (HSC). He proceeded to College of Education Uyo (then Advanced Teachers College) from here. He left for the USA in 1975, where he went to West Palm Beach, Florida State University. He obtained his degree in Criminology. He was given to hardwork and moved thereafter to California where he furthered his education. He was employed by the United States’ FBI. His home was a safe haven for fellow friends and countrymen who came to the United States to seek opportunity. They all left after getting jobs and homes. James was a Christian of Roman Catholic faith, and he was a man with compassion, love, and milk of human kindness.
James Aggrey suffered from Alzheimer’s for a few years before his passing. On Saturday, May 22nd, his health degenerated and he was given his last rites. The medics could unfortunately not revive him, and at 5 am on Sunday, May 24, 2020, James breathed his last. May his soul rest in peace, Amen.
James is survived by his beloved wife, Patience Irima Aggrey (Odey); his four children: Godwin E., Susan M., Queen, and James; his 5 grandchildren: Jamier, Femi, Jieshowo Cecelia, Ebkoroeshowo Joseph, and Greatness Ngare; His three brothers: Gabriel, Leonard, and Thomas; and his three sisters: Justina, Helen, and Cecelia. He will be sorely missed by many other extended family members and friends.
