James A. Gannon Jr.'s Obituary
James A. Gannon Jr., passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on October 24, 2018 at his residence in Huntingdon Valley, Pa. Born in Philadelphia, Jim was 88 years old. He was a graduate of Northeast Catholic High School, class of 1947.
Jim proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #1284 and a long time member of Torresdale Frankford Country Club.
Jim was the founder of Gannon Insurance Agency in Philadelphia.
Husband of the late Janet Gannon and the late Kathleen D. Gannon
Loving father of James (Marianne), John (Martha) and Kathleen (Tim) O’Hanlon.
Grandfather of Caitlin Rooney (Tyler), John Michael Gannon, Kelsey Bridget Hushon (Sean), Colleen Colangelo (Steven), Moira Susan Gannon, Christine Gannon, Bridget O’Hanlon, Timothy O’Hanlon and Patrick O’Hanlon.
Brother of Ann Gannon, Patricia Gara, predeceased by Elizabeth Mork, Mary Killion, Bernadette Gannon, Sally Keane and Thomas Gannon.
Also surviving are numerous loving nieces and nephews.
Gathering of family and friends will be Saturday 9:30-11 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church 611 Knowles Ave. Southampton, PA 18966.
His Funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m.
Interment, with Military Honors, will follow at Hillside Cemetery, Roslyn, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Timothy’s Church
