James H. Lafferty's Obituary
James H. Lafferty, 66, longtime resident of Cinnaminson, NJ, passed away suddenly on March 26, 2024. Born on January 16, 1958 in Bryn Mawr, PA, to the late Daniel and Margaret Lafferty. Devoted husband to Susan Lafferty (nee Whicker) for 28 years. Beloved father to Moira Lafferty and the late Seamus Lafferty. Loving uncle to Erin Wallace, her husband Danny and their son Declan, Jamie Nerney and her husband Steve, Kelly Carr, her husband Mario and their son Finn, Patrick Looft, Daniel and Maggie Wilson, and Caroline (Juan D’Anna), Connor and Christopher Smith. Brother to Denise Looft (Bill), Maura Wilson (Larry) and predeceased by his siblings John, Margie (Robert), and Daniel. Brother in law to James McCartney and the late Pam McCartney. He will be sorely missed by many other family members, friends, and neighbors.
For many years James worked as a contractor, most recently for his own company, J. Laff, LLC where he enjoyed working with his son. James loved basketball. Growing up he was on the Lower Merion Championship basketball team. He was a self-proclaimed “Simple Man” and could often be found down in Sea Isle with a PBR in hand. James loved woodworking, golf, and traveling with friends, most notably to Ireland. Everyone that knew him loved his unique “Jingo” or “ James-isms”. He was often at the diner, the VFW, or on his couch watching Fox News. Most of all, James will be missed for his kind spirit. He was a gentle giant that would do anything for anyone. Everyone he talked to was affectionately called “Love”. His wife, children, and family were the most important things to him.
