James T. Lewis' Obituary
James T. Lewis, 92, of Mount Laurel, NJ, died peacefully Thursday, November 3, 2022, at his home surrounded by family.
Born in Trenton, NJ, James was a proud Korean War Air Force veteran and a retired Greyhound bus driver with 30 years safe driving. Formerly of Largo, FL, and Moorestown, NJ, he was active in the Catholic church as a Marriage Encounter leader and the VFW as Post Commander.
James was known and loved as "Jim" and "Uncle Jim" to countless family and friends. He had an infectious smile, playful sense of humor, and kind and compassionate spirit. Quick to give hugs, he would often say, “Go easy.”
He was the widower of Joan Lewis, his beloved wife of 60 years. Dear father of Reighnold “Ron” Lewis (Linda), Daniel Lewis (Mary), and Mariellen Voit (Jim). Loving grandfather of Peter (Haley), William, Alison, Jennifer (Jordan), Kelsey, Sarah, Bonnie, and James (Carly). Great-grandfather of Olivia and Beckett. Brother of Margaret “Peggy” Inglese (Sam) and Eva Fox (Brett).
The family will receive friends on Friday, November 11, 6-8 p.m. and Saturday, November 12, 9-10 a.m. at Givnish Funeral Home, 398 East Main Street Marlton, NJ 08053. A funeral Mass will follow on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 100 Willow Bend Road, Marlton, NJ 08053. Burial will take place immediately following at Jesus, Bread of Life Catholic Cemetery and Mausoleum, 3055 Fostertown Road, Mount Laurel, NJ 08054. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Salvation Army Greater Philadelphia Area, easternusa.salvationarmy.org.
