James T. McCracken's Obituary
James T. McCracken passed away peacefully on October 31, 2014 at his home after a hard fought and courageous battle with cancer. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 49 years, Kathy (nee McManus); son James (Daniela Troia), daughter Meghan McCracken and grandchildren Alessia and James McCracken. Brother-in-law of Sharon (Michael) Gottovi, Kevin (Bonnie) McManus and Carol McCracken. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Jim preceded in death by his parents; James and Catherine McCracken and his brother John McCracken. James was born July 27, 1941 in Philadelphia, PA and he grew up in Maplewood, NJ where he attended Columbia High School and then graduated from Kean University (BA). He completed his military service with the NJ National Guard. Over the course of his career, he worked for major paper and tape manufacturers, Johnson & Johnson, Permacel Division and 3M sales; which led him to his own successful business (1976) Converter Specialties. He was very proud of being able to provide employment for others. Jim was active in the community and was chair of the Riverton 4th of July Celebration for 8 years. He served as President of Riverton Country Club and was an avid golfer there. Jim was an active member of the Christ Church, Riverton. His other relaxation was going to Long Beach Island, which he enjoyed as both a child and as an adult. Jim will be remembered as having a great sense of humor and being a loving and caring person. He will be missed by his family, friends and faithful Sheltie dog, Penny. Jim’s Life Celebration and gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday Eve from 6 – 8 p.m. at Snover/Givnish of Cinnaminson 1200 Route 130 North. His Memorial Service will be held at Christ Episcopal Church 305 Main Street, Riverton, NJ 08077 on Wednesday at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Christ Episcopal Church and/or
