James Joseph O'Hara's Obituary
Jim O’Hara, age 66, longtime Delran resident passed away suddenly on January 9, 2025 at The Hospital of The University of Pennsylvania.
Born in 1958 to the late James and Eileen O’Hara, he grew up in Levittown, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Bishop Egan High School in 1976 and Temple University in 1980. Jim worked for the Internal Revenue Service for 38 years before his retirement in 2021. His career brought him many commendations and awards for merit during his years of service. Since his retirement he has focused his time on family and friends. Beach vacations and holiday gatherings with his O’Hara clan were some of his most cherished moments. Jim was an avid sports fan. He followed the Eagles, the Phillies and the Red Sox in good times and in bad. He found a great group of friends at a couple of local spots, Ott’s Tavern and Crawfords Corner Bar. There he read his paper, watched a game and just enjoyed the company of friends. To them he was “Jimmy.”
Jim is survived by his wife of 41 years Kathryn O’Hara (nee Barniak). Loving father to their four children Meghan McInnes (Dan), Katelyn McConney (Pat), Kelly O’Hara Faniro (Andrew) and James (Justin Sillner). Pop Pop to their six grandchildren Mason, Brenna and Loretta McConney, and Daniel, Nora and Charlie McInnes. Jim is also survived by his sisters Maureen Toal (Mark), Eileen Matlack (Michael) and Patricia Delaney (John). His in-laws, Joan and Rich Stanulis, Bob and Chris Barniak, Ed Barniak, Betty and Mark Stercula and JR and Susan Aguila. Twenty nephews and nieces as well as thirty great nephews and nieces.
