Jim and Cindy were the reason we decided to sail our boat to Placencia from Puerto Rico. They helped us in every way possible and became our best friends! We built our dock just down the street from their house and spent a lot of time with them in their beautiful home! The dinner parties we had on their deck are at the top of our favorites list! I'm sure the neighbors were happy when we went back to our boat so the laughter would stop for the night!
I'm so glad we were finally able to take them with us up the Rio Dulce River in Guatemala! It was the best time we had on our boat in the13 years we sailed!
I can't think of a better friend than Jim has always been. Always there when you needed him! Any time we did anything together we would laugh so much we couldn't get much done! But somehow we managed to do a lot! You know how people can just "click" with each other. That was how it was with Jim and me. One of my favorite people I've ever known. I miss him greatly.
I remember the one time I ever raced in a regatta on our boat. Marla was gone to the states and Jim went with me as my crew. As the race progressed we started to realize that we had a serious chance of actually winning! When we crossed the finish line in first place, we just couldn't believe it! What a day that was! And it wouldn't have been anywhere near as good if Jim hadn't been there!
I can't imagine how Cindy is coping with Jim's passing. Just know we are always available Cindy and we love you just like we love Jim! You two made our lives so much better and still do! Call us any time!
